It appeared in competitive Mono-Green and Erhnamgeddon decks as a countermeasure to dominant Blue Control lists, particularly Brian Weissman’s “The Deck”. In Old School (93\/94), it is a sideboard staple in various decks (e.g. Mono-Green Aggro, G\/W Erhnamgeddon) to punish blue decks, especially control and tempo archetypes that rely heavily on Islands. After the opponent taps out or overextends, \u003cem\u003eTsunami \u003c\/em\u003ecan wipe out their mana base entirely.
