Serendib Efreet (Repaint)
Serendib Efreet is a 3-mana blue creature from the Arabian Nights set (1993), known for its efficient stats and early-game pressure. With flying and 3 power for just three mana, it was a standout threat in early control and tempo strategies. It saw major competitive play in the 1990s, including dominant roles in Mono-Blue Skies and ‘The Deck’ variants. Its slight life loss drawback was often irrelevant compared to its ability to apply fast pressure. Efreet forces opponents to answer it early or quickly fall behind in tempo. It fits best in aggressive or tempo-oriented blue shells that want a fast board presence, while keeping mana open for counters. In Old School (93/94), it remains one of the most played and respected creatures played in various decks (e.g. UR Counterburn, The Deck, Mono-Blue Aggro). Serendib Efreet remains iconic for its power-to-cost ratio and its dominance in early Magic history. Serendib Efreet is not on the reserved list and has been reprinted a few times (Eternal Masters, From the Vault:Exiled,..)
