    Sandals of Abdallah is a 4-mana colorless artifact from Arabian Nights (1993), Magic’s first expansion set. It’s one of the earliest “equipment-style” cards, granting islandwalk to creatures. Sandals is notable as part of Magic’s first attempt at flavorful utility artifacts. For two mana and tapping it, you can give a target creature islandwalk until end of turn. This ability can be used to make a creature unblockable if the opponent controls an island. Its key downside is that it's destroyed if that creature dies before the end the turn, making it a risky investment in aggressive or high-risk strategies. Because of its high mana cost to cast plus another two to activate its ability, this card was considered too slow for many decks. Sandals of Abdallah is on the Reserved List, and so it will not be reprinted and this will be its only rendition to appear on a Magic card.
