Natural Spring is a four-mana green sorcery from Ice Age (1995) that gains you 8 life. At the time, large life-gain spells were viewed as a legitimate defensive strategy, especially in slower, creature-heavy metas. While the card never reached competitive prominence, it reflected green’s early identity as a color of endurance and natural recovery. Life gain was once considered a win condition in itself, particularly in casual play. Today it occasionally appears in nostalgic decks or beginner-focused Commander builds, but its role is almost entirely historical. Natural Spring is not on the Reserved List.
