Moorish Cavalry is a four-mana white 3/3 creature with trample, first printed in Arabian Nights (1993). Its a typical creature of early Magic design, it has straightforward stats and just a single keyword. Having the Trample ability on a white card is unusual, something that became rare as white’s color identity solidified over time. Moorish Cavalry was an efficient creature for that time, especially in white. In Old School (93/94), Moorish Cavalry plays a solid role as a mid-curve beater in decks like Mono-White Aggro (White Weenie)- alongside Savannah Lions, Serra Angel, Swords to Plowshares, and Disenchant. It’s also played in Green-White Midrange (Erhnamgeddon), where Moorish Cavalry fills the 4-mana slot as a trampling threat can can close games after a Wrath of God or Armageddon. While other creatures like White Knight and Serra Angel often overshadow it, Moorish Cavalry’s trample ability still makes it valuable for punching through smaller creatures. Moorish Cavalry is not on the Reserved List, it has been reprinted in Time Spiral.
