Mesa Pegasus is a white 1/1 flying creature first printed in Alpha (1993). It used the old Banding mechanic, now expressed as a triggered ability. (Any creatures with banding, and up to one without, can attack in a band. Bands are blocked as a group. If any creatures with banding you control are blocking or being blocked by a creature, you divide that creature's combat damage, not its controller, among any of the creatures it's being blocked by or is blocking.) It still sees some play in the Old School (93/94) format, in nostalgic White Weenie lists or as part of old-style flying packages. Banding interacts weirdly with early combat tricks and Moat-style lock pieces, so some Old-School pilots still value it. Players include it mostly for flavor, the odd combat interaction banding offers, and because a cheap flying body still has utility in low-power metas. Melissa A. Benson’s classic art and the early Magic feel this card has make it a true collector’s and aesthetic pick. This card is not on the Reserved List.
