Brian Weissman’s “The Deck” (1994) used \u003cem\u003eMahamoti Djinn\u003c\/em\u003e as its win condition alongside cards such as \u003cem\u003eCounterspell\u003c\/em\u003e, \u003cem\u003eSwords to Plowshares\u003c\/em\u003e and \u003cem\u003eDisenchant\u003c\/em\u003e. This deck became the foundation of many modern control archetypes. You’d slow the game down with counters and removal, then drop \u003cem\u003eMahamoti Djinn\u003c\/em\u003e once your opponent’s resources were depleted. By the time Pro Tours began in 1996,\u003cbr\u003e\u003cem\u003eMahamoti Djinn \u003c\/em\u003ewas already being replaced by newer, faster finishers.
