The flavor is classic 90’s Magic: trickery, jesters, and control through confusion. Mechanically, it symbolized the mask wearer (you) seizing control of your opponent’s mind. It also showcases \u003cem\u003eIce Age’s\u003c\/em\u003e fascination with “comes into play tapped” artifacts – an attempt to balance strong effects by delaying their use. It’s a form of hand disruption, letting you choose which cards to give them back. This card is used to dismantle combo decks by removing critical cards and replacing them with weak cards. In Commander (EDH), it often shows up in builds that emphasize mind control, chaos, or trickery.
