Chandra, Flamecaller is a six-mana red 4 loyalty Chandra-Planeswalker from Oath of the Gatewatch (2016). It’s a flexible top-end finisher, that creates an immediate board presence with hasty attackers for pressure. Her -X ability is a repeatable board wipe that scales with the board state, letting you clear small creatures while keeping larger ones alive. Chandra’s 0 ability acts as a wheel for red decks that run out of cards. Unlike some planeswalkers that need time to build value, it impacts the game immediately. These features made her a favorite for midrange and control decks that needed a stabilizing, high-impact finisher. Chandra, Flamecaller saw significant play in multiple Standard archetypes during the Battle for Zendikar / Shadows over Innistrad era. She was one of the best walkers of her Standard environment, functioning as a finisher for control, a stabilizer for midrange decks – and as a board wipe for ramp decks. She appeared in multiple Standard Pro Tour Top 8 lists, especially at Pro Tour Shadows over Innistrad (2016) – played in G/R Ramp (Goggles Ramp) and Red-White Eldrazi Goggles. In Modern, she used to be played in decks like Skred Red, Rg Ponza (Gruul land destruction), and in control shells like 4c Planeswalker needing a top-end board wipe. In cEDH / Commander, she is not a staple but played in commanders like Neheb, the Eternal and Narset, Enlightened Master. This card is not on the Reserved List.
