Blade of Selves is a two-mana artifact-equipment from Commander 2015, that gives the equipped creature myriad. Whenever it attacks, for each opponent other than the defending player, you create a token that’s a copy of that creature tapped and attacking those players – exiling the tokens at end of combat. It’s one of the most infamous pieces of equipment in multiplayer formats because it allows you to duplicate ETB (enters the battlefield) triggers, attack triggers, death triggers – basically any trigger – across multiple opponents at once. Blade of Selves is a major player in Commander / EDH. It appears most often in ETB-focused decks (e.g. Brago, King Eternal, Roon of the Hidden Realm), creating huge value with the myriad ability. It’s also played in token or copy-focused decks (e.g. Krenko, Mob Boss and Esix, Fractal Bloom), or in “one big creature” decks with strong on-hit triggers (e.g. Inferno Titan, Wurmcoil Engine). Every time you attack, you create multiple copies – triggering burn, lifegain, death, or attack triggers for each opponent. Some commanders outright break this card, like Sakashima of a Thousand Faces, Isshin, Two Heavens as One (doubles myriad triggers), or Najeela, the Blade-Blossom (extra combats amplify the copies). The card’s entire existence is tied to Commander and casual multiplayer. Blade of Selves is not on the Reserved List.
