Aura of Dominion (Original Sketch)
Aura of Dominion is a two-mana blue Enchant creature (Enchantment-Aura) from Champions of Kamigawa (2004), that can untap enchanted creature, by paying (1) and tapping an untapped creature you control. It’s a cheap blue untap engine. It lets you repeatedly untap the enchanted creature by using any other creature you control as the tapping “fuel”. This can create infinite combos, and enable repeatable activated abilities. It can also act as a pseudo-vigilance effect. This card creates tap-tribal synergies, and allows you to reuse powerful effects multiple times per turn. It is essentially a blue version of “tap one creature, untap another” functioning like a combo glue piece. Aura of Dominion sees almost all of its play in Commander, specifically in decks that care about tap abilities, untap loops, infinite mana combos, “big mana” creatures and token factories (to supply “tap fuel”). Some popular commanders using Aura of Dominion are blue-based tap / untap commanders like Azami, Lady of Scrolls (tap Wizards to draw, untap her to draw more), Arcanis the Omnipotent (infinite draw with enough creatures), and Emry, Lurker of the Loch (artifact-creature loops with dorks/constructs). Aura of Dominion also works well with big-mana commanders like Kydele, Chosen of Kruphix (generate absurd mana), and Kinnan, Bonder Prodigy (amplified mana dorks go infinite). It can be used with token generators like Talrand, Sky Summoner as well. Aura of Dominion is not on the Reserved List.
