Ancestral Recall (Repaint)
Originally assigned to artist Mark Poole under the title, Ancestral Memory, the figure in the foreground is trying hard to remember...god knows what exactly he's wracking his brain about. Ancestral Recall is one of the most powerful, elegant, and iconic cards ever in Magic’s history. It was printed in Alpha, Beta, and Unlimited (1993). As part of the Power Nine cards, it has shaped Magic’s design, balance, and even history of competitive play. For just one blue mana, you get to draw three cards at instant speed. Ancestral Recall is restricted in Vintage and Old School and banned in all other competitive formats. It’s unmatched card advantage makes it an automatic inclusion in every blue Vintage deck. Ancestral Recall is also a dominant card in Old School (93/94), where it fits into any blue deck (e.g. The Deck, UR Counterburn, Mono-Blue Control). Casting Ancestral Recall in 93/94 feels like casting pure history. It’s the kind of card that instantly turns the tide or puts you ahead in the game very fast. Ancestral Recall is on the Reserved List, it will never be reprinted.
