    Aesthetic Consultation is a one-mana black instant from Unhinged (2004). (Choose an artist. Exile the top six cards of your library, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a card with art by the chosen artist. Put that card in your hand and exile all other cards revealed this way). Silver-bordered sets (“joke” sets) are designed for humor, creativity, and nontraditional gameplay. Designers prioritize fun, novelty, and unique interactions over balance or tournament viability. Aesthetic Consultation exemplifies this by using a real-world reference (the illustrator of a Magic card) as part of the game mechanic. It reinforces the idea that Magic cards are works of art and encourages players to notice and celebrate illustrators. This card forces players to build around art themes if they want consistent payoff. Aesthetic Consultation works best in Unhinged-only decks or other silver-border decks. It can combo with cards that shuffle your library or manipulate top cards to increase the chance of drawing the chosen artist. Since it’s a silver-border Unhinged card, Reserved List does not really apply in the usual sense. It is not on the Reserved List.
